Trump White House in chaos: after Sean Spicer quits, Republican source says more resignations coming

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last night two members of Donald Trump’s Russia probe legal team abruptly exited the building, as his Russia scandal reached a peak level of chaos. Now today the resignations are coming from inside the White House itself. Press Secretary Sean Spicer has quit in protest, after Anthony Scaramucci was hired to be his new boss. And now there’s word that more major resignations are coming, as the White House itself slips into pandemonium.

Sean Spicer’s resignation was a long time in coming, as Trump had been gradually nudging him further out of power since nearly day one. But it still came in abrupt fashion today, with Spicer finally growing a pair and deciding he’d rather walk away than suffer this new indignation. And the arrival of Scaramucci, a Fox News figure who is perhaps best known for being a close friend of Trump’s pal Sean Hannity, means that more resignations are on their way.

Joy-Ann Reid of MSNBC tweeted the following about White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus: “GOP source to me just now: ‘Priebus is next.'” (link). Katy Tur of NBC News also stated on-air that Priebus may have one foot out the door. But chains of events like don’t typically stop just two major dominoes falling. So look for additional resignations or firings once Reince makes his exit official.

What’s remarkable here is that Donald Trump’s White House is being run by such a tiny skeleton crew of a senior staff to begin with, each resignation is a further body blow to what’s left of the administration’s stability. Sean Spicer’s role is being filled by Sarah Huckabee Sanders. But Trump will have to bring in someone from the outside to fill Reince Priebus’ job once he resigns. And whoever Trump picks, it’ll likely lead to even more internal problems within Trump’s dwindling senior staff.
