A major bombshell has surfaced in Donald Trump’s Russia scandal that connects him financially to everyone from Vladimir Putin to a convicted Russian mafia figure, and it establishes that those connections were playing in secret during the course of the 2016 election. Now Trump’s former ghostwriter, who penned “Art Of The Deal” but has since turned against him, says this is the bombshell that will take Trump down.

Tonight came word from the Washington Post that Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Donald Trump Jr. all worked with Russian mafia figure Felix Sater to try to build a Trump Tower in Moscow while Trump was running for President of the United States (link). This connects a number of dots, including why Trump was publicly kissing up to Putin during the campaign, why he was working so hard behind the scenes to get the Republican Party platform changed in Russia’s favor, and where the funding for his recent projects has been coming from. Just how bad is it for Trump? Ask his ghostwriter.

Tony Schwartz has spent the entirety of Donald Trump’s political foray speaking out against him. Schwartz got to know Trump intimately decades ago when he served as his ghostwriter. He now says that Trump is a soulless fraud and that he regrets having ever helped to build him up in the first place. Here’s what Schwartz had to say this evening: “My gut: What Trump did in Russia will prove to be criminal — and the tip of the iceberg. Much more will follow and this will all unravel” (link).

It’s not that difficult to figure out where Schwartz is coming from. This latest news establishes that Donald Trump really was trying to conduct financial business with Russia during the election, and it establishes that Trump was working with Russian mafia figures to help fund his projects. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, if he didn’t have this information already, has to be licking his lips tonight.
