Tom Hanks has coronavirus. The NBA is shutting down. Well, we’re in it now.

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This evening Donald Trump gave an Oval Office address about the coronavirus crisis that was so poorly received, the stock market futures immediately began crashing once he was done speaking. Then things started getting worse. Much worse. And quickly.

Beloved actor and all around good guy Tom Hanks announced on his official social media account that he and his wife Rita Wilson have both tested positive for the coronavirus. They’re down in Australia right now, for a film shoot, which is why they were easily able to get tested. They’re having some symptoms, but it doesn’t sound dire for them right now. Even as we wish them well, more bad news is arriving by the minute.

NBA player Rudy Gobert apparently has the coronavirus, and as a result, the NBA has just announced that it’s suspending the entire season. Earlier today, the debate was whether to have fans attend games. Now the games won’t be played at all. That’s how quickly things are escalating.

The real trouble is that we don’t know how far and wide the coronavirus has spread in the United States, because Donald Trump’s ineptness and corruption has resulted in most Americans not being able to get tested. If Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were in the U.S. right now, they could not have even gotten tested with the symptoms that they have. That’s how badly Trump is botching this. Everyone stay safe out there.
