Donald Trump attacks three former U.S. Presidents after they’re spotted together in public

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

On Thursday, three former United States Presidents from two different political parties were spotted hanging out together at a golf tournament. President Barack Obama, President Bill Clinton, and President George W. Bush were photographed together by the media. They also posed for a selfie with golfer Phil Mickelson, posted by his brother Tim. In what seems unlikely to have been a coincidence, three days later Donald Trump made up an excuse to attack all three of them.

On Sunday, Trump posted the following tweet about Kim Jong-Un and North Korea: “Being nice to Rocket Man hasn’t worked in 25 years, why would it work now? Clinton failed, Bush failed, and Obama failed. I won’t fail.” This is a bizarre assertion, for a number of reasons. All three of those former U.S. Presidents were able to do a more effective job of containing North Korea than Trump has done. Moreover, the “Rocket Man” has only been in power for around seven years; two of those former Presidents were dealing with a different North Korean leader. But the timing stands out as more interesting.

Back when Presidents Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Carter came together to create the One America Appeal to help out with hurricane relief, they made a conscious decision to exclude Donald Trump from their coalition. They may have simply concluded that the best nonpartisan approach for their charity was to not include the current U.S. President. However, considering Trump’s narcissism, it seems likely that he took it as a personal snub – particularly considering that none of the five of them voted for him.

Now, just three days after three of those former U.S. Presidents were spotted having fun together in public, Donald Trump is suddenly attacking all of them. It’s worth pointing out that in all Trump’s numerous other Twitter rants about North Korea, he’s never previously tried to blame the three of them for the problem. We encourage you to donate to One America Appeal.
