House Republican Thomas Massie gets blasted from all sides for idiotic stunt

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. House Republican Thomas Massie long ago made clear that he’s a self important idiot who thinks his own lack of intelligence makes him the smart one. Today Massie is taking things to a whole new level of stupidity, when he threatened to force all House members to return to the chamber – in the midst of a dangerous pandemic – to hold a voice vote on the coronavirus relief bill.

Thomas Massie’s stunt is so over the top, even Donald Trump is calling him out for it: “Looks like a third rate Grandstander named @RepThomasMassie, a Congressman from, unfortunately, a truly GREAT State, Kentucky, wants to vote against the new Save Our Workers Bill in Congress. He just wants the publicity. He can’t stop it, only delay, which is both dangerous & costly.”

Trump then went on to dishonestly attack the Democrats, accusing them of somehow conspiring with Massie. But Democratic Party stalwart John Kerry also chimed in, making clear that the hatred of Massie today is bipartisan: “Congressman Massie has tested positive for being an asshole. He must be quarantined to prevent the spread of his massive stupidity.”

The relief bill will pass whether Thomas Massie backs down or not. All he can do is delay it. Now that he’s alienated pretty much everyone, it’s difficult to figure how Massie has much of a future going forward.
