This is just getting sad
Donald Trump has blown his transition period so badly with his insane cabinet picks, he was forced to come out of hiding and do Meet The Press this past weekend. It didn’t go well for him. He came off roughly as confused and incoherent as he had been on the campaign trail. So much for a month’s rest helping his cognitive condition.
Now Trump appears to have decided to disappear again, mostly. He’s only made one social media post of note since his failed Meet The Press appearance, and it’s pretty much gibberish: “The Democrats are fighting hard to get rid of the Popular Vote in future Elections. They want all future Presidential Elections to be based exclusively on the Electoral College!”
What is Trump even trying to say here? Presidential elections are already based exclusively on the Electoral College. Trump is clearly trying to imply that he’s going to magically change how elections work for his own benefit, as part of his effort to sound strong and scary and distract everyone from how much weakness he’s shown with his failing cabinet nominations. But really, it’s just coming across as sad. Trump is on his last legs cognitively, and it’s becoming painfully obvious.
