Michael Flynn was sending treasonous Russia text messages while he was at Donald Trump’s inauguration
It remains to be seen whether the Trump-Russia scandal will meet the rather tricky legal definition of the word treason, but the conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia to rig the election in Trump’s favor already meets the popular definition of the word. Some Americans are still waiting to see that treason in action, with their own eyes, on a smoking gun video. Now, thanks to Michael Flynn, we sort of have one – and it took place at Trump’s inauguration.
Congressman Elijah Cummings published a letter today (link) which documented claims made by a whistleblower. The story is that at the same time Donald Trump was giving his inauguration speech, Michael Flynn was sending text messages to his business associates, assuring them that Trump would be easing sanctions on Russia the minute his inauguration was finished. This was a continuation of the transition-period conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia to illegally sabotage President Obama’s sanctions. So how was Flynn sending those treasonous text messages during Trump’s inauguration speech? As it turns out, from the audience.
Flynn attended the Trump inauguration, and thanks to videos and photos dug up by various media outlets today, Flynn can be seen sitting in the audience and typing away on his phone while Trump was speaking. Trump’s top foreign policy adviser, the guy he went on to name White House National Security Adviser, was committing treason (in the popular definition of the world at least) during the first minute of Trump’s presidency.
It wasn’t enough that Donald Trump and his team conspired with Russia to rig the election in his favor. They were so craven about it, they literally couldn’t wait a full minute into Trump’s illegitimate presidency before using their newfound power to further sell out the United States to the highest bidder. The Feds presumably only gave Flynn a deal because he can provide evidence that Trump was in on it.
