After Paul Manafort lands in jail, Roger Stone confirms he’s about to join him behind bars

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Yesterday we saw Donald Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort hauled off to jail. Suffice it to say that the development, while expected, served to shake up the landscape and send a number of people into a panic. Trump and his team admit they’re “stunned” at what just just happened. But the most telling responses may be coming from those who are in line to find themselves behind bars next.

We’ve known for weeks that Donald Trump’s oldest friend Roger Stone is on the verge of being indicted by a grand jury and arrested by Special Counsel Robert Mueller in relation to the Trump-Russia scandal. Various details have surfaced from various media outlets about the grand jury proceedings, and it’s become clear that Mueller has reached the point where he’s hauling in the witnesses who are the closest to Stone personally. That points to the end of the process being very near. Now Stone himself is confirming as much.

After Manafort went to jail yesterday, Roger Stone appeared on Fox News to whine about how unfair the whole thing was. Stone confirmed that twelve of his associates had been subpoenaed by the grand jury to testify. This is up from eight, just a week ago. We know that many of these associates have in fact testified against him, including multiple people who worked for him. It means the grand jury is very near to end of the line when it comes to Stone.

Roger Stone went on to complain about how Robert Mueller is merely looking to find people who are willing to “bear false witness” against him. In other words, he knows he’s about to be indicted and arrested, and he’s already trying to explain it away. This comes after Stone recently stated in another interview that he was “prepared” to be arrested. So fresh off Manafort’s demise, and in the midst of Michael Cohen’s endgame, here comes another one.
