At the end of a week which saw him slurring his words during a speech, campaigning for a child molester, fanning the flames of racism, and trying to start a war abroad, could Donald Trump find a way to finish things out in even more stupefying fashion? As it turns out, he’s sure trying. Trump went utterly berserk on Twitter on Sunday afternoon, when he was supposed to have been on the golf course, raising a number of new and disconcerting questions.

Reporters from two major media outlets did have to clarify the details of their reporting this week, as they worked to get to the bottom of Trump’s nonstop lies and endless scandals. In response, after Trump had already begun a dishonest tirade about it last night, he posted this hyperbolic garbage today: “Very little discussion of all the purposely false and defamatory stories put out this week by the Fake News Media. They are out of control – correct reporting means nothing to them. Major lies written, then forced to be withdrawn after they are exposed…a stain on America!”

For starters, if he’s on the golf course, who’s tweeting this? Something new has clearly gone wrong with Trump’s health this week; is he even still able to golf? Is that just a cover story, as he sits on the floor of his bedroom in his pajamas and tweets this kind of garbage instead? It’s also difficult to believe that Trump could spell a word like “defamatory” correctly, even with the help of autocorrect. Does Trump even know a word like that? For that matter, “a stain on America” doesn’t sound like Trump’s usual style of phrasing.

So either Donald Trump is melting down on Twitter in real time while he’s on the golf course, or his staff is only pretending that he’s on the golf course, or his staff is tweeting stupid things on his behalf because he’s not even in condition to tweet. Trump wasn’t slurring during his Friday night rally, but what’s going on now? This man is in need of professional medical and psychological help – and he doesn’t appear to be getting either.
