Roger Stone tried to threaten Preet Bharara. Guess who got the last laugh.

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Even as the investigation into Donald Trump’s Russia scandal progresses, and his longtime friend Roger Stone comes closer to becoming a target for his own self-admitted role in communicating with Russian hackers, Stone has continued to remain defiant. He’s preparing to testify before Congress about the scandal, after having hurled profane insults at members of the committee. Now Stone is trying his hand at threatening former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara. It’s not going over particularly well for him.

Roger Stone, perhaps unable to sleep as the Russia scandal moves along, was up tweeting threats at four o’clock this morning: “Hey Preet Bharara – many questions about your conduct and that of the FBI in the Bill Walters case. U will be disbarred before this is over.” It’s unclear why Stone is suddenly aiming his wrath at Bharara, who was fired by Trump earlier this year in an apparent attempt at fending off a federal investigation into his corrupt business practices in New York. But in any case, Bharara got the last laugh.

Sometime after the sun came up, Preet Bharara tweeted “Any criticism from you, Roger, is a divine compliment. Thank you.” He then added “Also, you can subscribe to my podcast here” and included a link to the online show he just launched in partnership with WNYC.

Preet Bharara’s new podcast is called “Stay Tuned With Preet” and you can indeed subscribe to it at this iTunes link). It will also be available on other platforms. We doubt Roger Stone will be tuning in – but he’ll have to find some way to pass the time once he inevitably ends up in a prison cell for his role in the Trump-Russia scandal.
