Prankster tricks Sean Hannity into tweeting “Hannity gargles piss”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Now that Sean Hannity has devolved from standard issue Fox News liar to pure Donald Trump mouthpiece and whacked out conspiracy theorist, he’s become the subject of more ridicule than ever. In particular, people have focused in on his habit of carelessly quoting tweets addressed to him without bothering to look at what he’s getting himself into. Today that resulted in one of the more hilarious pranks played on Hannity to date.

Someone replied to Sean Hannity on Twitter and said “Sean you should drink more!” This prompted Hannity to quote the tweet while adding “I need one. Just got home!” But the end result ended up hilariously looking like this:

That’s right, Sean Hannity ended up tweeting “Hannity gargles piss” for all to see. He’s since gone on to delete it. Turns out the whole thing was a prank, which was solved by Mediaite (link). After the user had managed to bait Hannity into quoting him, he then changed his Twitter username to “Hannity gargles piss” so that Hannity’s quoted tweet would display that way. And while the whole thing may have been unfair to an unwitting Hannity, within the karmic scheme of things, he probably more than deserved it. You’ve also got to like a prankster who’s willing to change his entire Twitter username just to pull off a prank.

While this was a blatant setup, there have been instances in the past in which Sean Hannity has quoted stupid things on Twitter without needing to be tricked. For instance, earlier this year he quoted someone saying “All Americans must join together to make Russia great again” (link) before deleting that one as well. But considering how close Hannity is to Trump, and how close Trump is to Russia, that one may have been more of a Freudian slip than an accident.
