Pete Hegseth is imploding
My gosh, is the Pete Hegseth nomination imploding! Pete launched a blitz of TV and podcast appearances the other day. That did him no good, as he actually made things worse for himself.
Many on social media are mocking Pete mercilessly, saying that having his mom as a character witness is not a good look, particularly for someone who would be tasked with running the military.
Pete also appeared on has-been Megyn Kelly’s podcast, claiming he is being “Kavenaughed” by the left.
Uh-oh. Bringing beer boy into the conversation is NOT the way to go, Petey. And seriously, Megyn Kelly? Everyone knows she’s a Donald Trump groupie who would do anything he asked of her.
Then an attorney representing the beleaguered Hegseth, blamed his client’s problems on his alleged rape victim, saying she was “being seductive”: toward Pete.
Perhaps Pete does not really want the job and is trying to make his nomination go up in smoke. If so, he is doing a fine job!
Meanwhile, Petey also promises to quit drinking if he gets the job. OK—how would we know whether he honored that promise or not?
Will Pete have a sober counselor living with him who will give us daily reports on how the tee-totaling is going? I hope so. Without that, all we ‘d really have is Pete’s word, and one can see how useless that would be.
The clock is ticking down relentlessly. It’s a ticking time bomb. By “it,” I refer to the nomination of this loser, who I imagine won’t be in the running at all by next week.
