Maxine Waters says Donald Trump knows the walls are closing in on him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last night, after Donald Trump simultaneously enacted his unconstitutional transgender military ban and pardoned his racist criminal pal Joe Arpaio under cover of a hurricane, I wrote that Trump is accelerating his endgame (link). He knows he can’t win the battle to remain in office, so he’s now swiftly milking it for all he can, while he still can. Turns out Congresswoman Maxine Waters sees it in similar fashion.

Maxine Waters, who has long been outspoken in her criticism of Donald Trump, took a series of shots at him today: “I’m not surprised Trump pardoned racial profiler Arpaio. White Nationalists, KKK, & Duke celebrated Trump’s election b/c he is one of them! Trump disrespects minorities, lifts up white nationalists, demeans women & every day finds a way to undermine civil rights. He is deplorable.” (link). Then she added this: “Trump knows the walls are closing in on him & Russia collusion. His actions this week are acts of desperation. Ultimately, Congress must act.”

Trump is running out of time before the investigation into his Russia scandal reveals the full extent of his criminality, and his sinking approval rating drops so low that even his own party will have no choice but to oust him in the hope of avoiding midterm race blowback. Trump knows it, which is why he’s now milking things so blatantly without caring what it looks like. He knows the pardon of Arpaio will hurt him, but he’s past that point anyway. He’s even mounted a phony “reelection campaign” for the sole purpose of raising funds from what’s left of his base, and pocketing those funds.

These aren’t the actions of someone who’s playing the long game, or even someone who expects to be around for long. Donald Trump hears the clock ticking on his ouster. It’s not a matter of if, but when. If you find Palmer Report valuable, make a donation.
