Donald Trump Jr. emails suggest the existence of a list of people who attended his Russia meeting

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The emails released by Donald Trump Jr. have proven to be such a goldmine of collusion and confusion that even days later, some of the more salient details are just now getting sorted out. And as some additional details about his Russia meeting have surfaced, it’s placed some passages of his emails in new context. For instance there appears to be a list of people who attended the meeting.

In the days since news of the meeting first broke, its participants have tried to avoid revealing who all was in attendance. First it was just Trump Jr, Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, and a Kremlin attorney. Then as more questions started getting asked, there also a translator in the room. Then it was confirmed that Rob Goldstone, who had set up the meeting, was also in the room. Then came word that a former Soviet spy was in attendance. But it still appears they’re trying to hide the names of the biggest fish involved.

That’s where an email sent by Goldstone to Donald Trump Jr. takes on potential new meaning: “I will send the names of the two people meeting with you for security when I have them later today.” (full transcript). In this context, Goldstone would have almost certainly been referring to the security personnel at the Trump Tower front desk.

He only referred to two people, pretty clearly the Russians we already know about. But if arrangements were subsequently made in other unreleased emails for additional Russians or outsiders to attend, then the Trump Tower security desk was almost certainly given those names as well. Even if security was told not to log in the names of the Russians when they showed up, those names would still need to have been on a list to begin with, so security knew who to let in.

So there appears to be a list of attendees somewhere in Trump Tower’s logs. Our guess is the Special Counsel has already obtained that list, so there’s no point in the Trump team deleting it now. If you find Palmer Report valuable, make a donation.
