Congressman Ted Lieu slams Donald Trump for acting like the “mafia” toward NATO

We've launched the Palmer Report 2025 Operating Expenses Fund. If we can fully fund this, it'll bridge the gap and ensure that Palmer Report can keep fighting now and forever. I'm asking you to contribute what you can to our GoFundMe Page or our PayPal Page, both of which accept debit and credit cards. Thank you.

U.S Congressman Ted Lieu has been consistently vocal in speaking up against the improper actions of Donald Trump and his administration. He’s introduced legislation trying to take Trump’s nuclear launch authority away. He’s made fun of Trump for calling everything “fake news” that he doesn’t like. And now he’s firing back at Trump for mistreating the NATO allies of the United States.

Trump used this week’s NATO Summit to insult the leaders of the USA’s closest allies by accusing them of not paying their bills and demanding more money from them. Trump also vowed to cut off the sale of German cars to the United States, apparently without realizing that most of those cars are built by American workers in the USA.

When Ted Lieu appeared on CNN today for an on-air interview with host Wolf Blitzer, he accused Trump of trying to run a “mafia protection racket” against NATO member nations. Earlier today Lieu also took aim at Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who is being investigated by the FBI for his role in the Trump-Russia scandal. Lieu asserted that “Security clearance for Jared Kushner must be suspended NOW. Russians now know he is vulnerable & can leverage him with real or fake threats.” (link)

Earlier in the week, Ted Lieu used his Twitter account to confirm that he’s been studying up on the impeachment process. He sits on the House Judiciary Committee, which plays a key role in any impeachment process. Lieu also has a law degree, and he’s put it to use during his time as a JAG in the Air Force.

It's been a tough week, a tough month, a tough year. For all of us. But the fight goes on. Because we know how important this is. Because we care. Because we're the ones who fight. It's you and me. It has been for a decade. And I'm never backing down. But Palmer Report does have operating expenses. And in this uncertain time, I truly need your help. For that reason I've launched the Palmer Report 2025 Operating Expenses Fund. If we can fully fund this, it'll bridge the gap and ensure that Palmer Report can keep fighting now and forever. I'm asking you to contribute what you can to our GoFundMe Page or our PayPal Page, both of which accept debit and credit cards. Thank you.
