Twitter slams Ivanka Trump for promoting celebratory champagne product on Memorial Day

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

You’re Ivanka Trump. You are, to the shock of nearly everyone involved, the First Daughter of the United States (for now at least). You are also running your own for-profit brand of products. What’s the worst possible way that you could go about combining those two things? Ivanka and her brand have managed to find it, hitting rock bottom with a tone-deaf Memorial Day promotion.

On Sunday evening of Memorial Day weekend, Ivanka Trump’s official branded Twitter account encouraged everyone to “Make champagne popsicles this Memorial Day” (link):

That’s right, the President’s daughter thinks everyone should use champagne to celebrate a holiday that’s supposed to involve honoring those American soldiers who died fighting for our freedom. What’s remarkable here is that Ivanka’s brand went so far as to spell out that the champagne popsicles were specifically aimed at Memorial Day, meaning that this can’t merely be an unfortunately timed coincidence.

In fairness to Ivanka Trump, she did use her personal Twitter account to post the following message the next day (link):

But many saw it as too little too late after her ‘Memorial Day champagne’ promotion the night before, with the Twitter replies being brutally savage. And as of right now, Ivanka still hasn’t bothered to delete the original champagne tweet or post an apology.
