Donald Trump’s island home has “probably been destroyed” by Hurricane Irma

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Conservative leaders have long claimed that various hurricanes and natural disasters have hit liberal cities because God wanted to punish liberals. Not only is that sentiment an offensive perversion of Christianity, it’s also looking rather ironic in the face of Hurricane Irma – which is headed toward Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida, and has already apparently destroyed his vacation home in the Caribbean islands.

Tragically, reports from St. Martin are that “Ninety-five percent of the island is destroyed” according to a local official (link). That same official went on to explain that “We know that the four most solid buildings on the island have been destroyed, which means that more rustic structures have probably been completely or partially destroyed” (link). At least six people have died.

Donald Trump owns a multimillion dollar mansion in St. Martin which fits that “rustic” description, meaning that it’s likely lying in ruins along with the rest of the island. Most models now show Hurricane Irma on track to make landfall in Florida near Palm Beach, where Donald Trump’s primary home of Mar-a-Lago is located.

The devastating damage and loss of life resulting from Hurricane Irma, along with the forthcoming rescue and recovery efforts, are far more important than any partisan politics. But with this storm on track to damage one of Donald Trump’s homes after another, it’s time for conservatives to retire their offensive claim that God uses hurricanes to punish liberals. Best wishes to everyone who’s been placed in danger by Irma, regardless of how they voted.
