Hillary Clinton launches “Onward Together” to help facilitate anti-Trump Resistance groups

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

There’s been buzz about it for weeks, and today it became official: Hillary Clinton has launched Onward Together, a political group aimed at boosting and facilitating the Resistance that’s arisen against Donald Trump since the election. Clinton has largely been silent since defeating Trump by three million votes but losing the electoral college amid Russian interference. But now she’s returning to public life in a big way.

Here’s what Hillary Clinton is saying about the launch today, via her official Twitter page: “The last few months, I’ve been reflecting, spending time with family—and, yes, taking walks in the woods. We’re launching Onward Together to encourage people to get involved, organize, and even run for office. More than ever, I believe citizen engagement is vital to our democracy. I’m so inspired by everyone stepping up to organize and lead.”

Clinton goes on to cite the efforts already underway by groups like Indivisible, Swing Left, Color Of Change, Emerge America, and Run For Something as groups that her own Onward Together entity will support. She’s also revealing that former Vermont Governor Howard Dean is one of the people involved in her group.

Finally, Hillary Clinton adds “This year hasn’t been what I envisioned, but I know what I’m still fighting for: a kinder, big-hearted, inclusive America. Onward!” You can find the Onward Together mission statement, along with a signup page, on its official website at onwardtogether.org).
