G7 leaders jointly slam Russia, then minutes later Trump goes berserk
Donald Trump arrived late to the G7 Summit, weakly tried to pick fights with America’s core allies, begged for his master Vladimir Putin to be added to the alliance, and then limped away after having made a stunning mess for himself. The G7 leadership then released a joint communique slamming Russia, which Trump supposedly signed. Just minutes later, Trump went berserk on Twitter.
Radio Free Europe reported at 6:19pm EST that the anti-Russia statement had been issued, and that, according to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, it was signed by all seven leaders – which would mean that Trump signed it as well. Here’s a portion of what the statement said: “We condemn the attack using a military grade nerve agent in Salisbury, United Kingdom. We share and agree with the United Kingdom’s assessment that it is highly likely that the Russian Federation was responsible for the attack, and that there is no plausible alternative explanation.”
Just forty-four minutes after this was reported, Donald Trump began viciously attacking Trudeau on Twitter, ranting that “Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique.” He then went on to accuse Trudeau of being “dishonest and weak.”
So what’s going on here? Did Donald Trump sign the anti-Russia communique? Either way, with at least six of the seven leaders having slammed Russia, this serves to demonstrate just how weak Trump is – and that his pro-Russia mission at the G7 was an utter failure. In any case, Trump is ranting because he didn’t get what he wanted, because he lost, and he’s trying to cover for his own weakness.
