Donald Trump administration rocked by personal email scandal

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

First, Donald Trump and the Republicans concocted a phony “Hillary Clinton email scandal” centered around her fully legal use of a personal email server. Then the Trump campaign conspired with Russia to rig the election. Then the Trump administration created a phony voting commission aimed at distracting from the election rigging. Now it turns out Trump’s voting commission is being rocked by a very real – and very illegal – personal email scandal.

It’s been exposed that Donald Trump’s “election integrity commission” has been caught using private emails to conduct its business, according to The Verge (link). That’s not merely the height of hypocrisy; it’s a legal violation of federal records laws. Now there’s court action.

This may prove to be yet another instance of Donald Trump’s amateurish attempt at a coverup turning into a crime of its own. This comes even as Trump has committed obstruction of justice and other crimes in the name of trying to shut down the investigation into this Russia scandal. But when it comes to his administration’s use of personal email, that’s just the half of it.

Mike Pence used a private AOL email address to conduct business for the State of Indiana while he was simultaneously Governor of Indiana and Donald Trump’s running mate.
