Donald Trump Jr. just admitted his father is lying and James Comey is telling the truth

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. Donald Trump still can’t make up his mind whether his story is that James Comey vindicated him during his testimony, or lied about him during his testimony. Trump’s argument seems to be ‘he vindicated me with lies.’ That nonsensical position has made it difficult for Trump’s team to defend him on the matter. That may explain why Donald Trump Jr. just blew it so badly when he went on Fox News to discuss the matter.

Here’s the relevant thirty seconds of Donald Trump Jr.’s appearance on Jeanine Pirro’s show on Fox News:

Junior tried out his standard defense of his father: “When he tells you to do something, guess what, there’s no ambiguity in it. There’s no, hey I’m hoping, you and I are friends, hey I hope this happens, but you’ve got to do your job. That’s what he told Comey.” And there it is. Donald Trump Jr. just flat out admitted that his father told James Comey that he hoped the Russia investigation into Michael Flynn would go away. This comes immediately after Donald Trump himself insisted that he never said any such thing to Comey.

To be clear, Donald Trump Jr. was not in the meeting between Donald Trump and James Comey, and therefore does not have first hand knowledge of what was said. So either Donald Trump has privately admitted to his son that he did tell Comey he hoped the investigation would go away, or Junior is simply assuming that his father is lying. In any case, Junior just blew it on national television: “That’s what he told Comey.”
