Donald Trump caught on video with Donald Trump Jr.’s Russia colluders
Donald Trump just lost his ability to claim that he doesn’t know the people who helped his son set up a collusion meeting with the Russian government. CNN now has video Donald Trump with Rob Goldstone, who admits he helped Donald Trump Jr. set up his Kremlin meeting, as well as Russian figures Aras Agalarov and Emin Agalarov, who are also alleged to have helped set up the meeting.
The video obtained by CNN merely shows them all socializing and making clear that they know each other quite well (link), and is similar in fashion to the still-photo of the same men posted earlier in the week by political pundit Scott Dworkin of the Democratic Coalition Against Trump (link). But CNN’s willingness to air the video is significant, as it helps to close off any possible deniability for Donald Trump when it comes to having known these individuals.
Donald Trump has had a habit of claiming that he’s never met his own former business associates (Felix Sater) or claiming that key members of his campaign (chairman Paul Manafort, senior adviser Michael Flynn) only played minor roles in the campaign, whenever these individuals have come under suspicion of having been involved in the Trump-Russia collusion scandal. But Trump won’t be able to play that card when it comes to Goldstone or the Agalarovs.
This still doesn’t prove that Donald Trump knew his son was meeting with the Russian government to try to rig the election in his favor. But there is a significant amount of circumstantial evidence publicly available. It is confirmed that Donald Trump was in Trump Tower at the time of the meeting. And he gave a speech just before the meeting in which he promised he would soon have dirt on Hillary Clinton. So this inches us further to proving that Trump was in on the collusion conspiracy.
