DOJ just called Donald Trump’s bluff [updated]

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The federal judge handling Donald Trump’s request for a special master announced during today’s court hearing that she’ll post her decision later at an unknown time. But even as we wait for that to play out, it turns out the DOJ has managed to call Trump’s bluff on a different ruling from this judge – and the DOJ has won that maneuver.

In its filing, the DOJ offered to release a more detailed list of what it seized from Trump’s home, along with an update of what’s been processed so far. But in court today, Trump and his lawyers agreed to the former while opposing the latter.

That’s all you really need to know. Donald Trump and his team can’t sign off on having the judge unseal everything that the DOJ is offering to unseal, without the public finding out even more details about just how guilty he is. Trump is trying to split the difference, and it’s just making him look less transparent than the people investigating him.
