Anthony Scaramucci deletes his tweets where he said negative things about Donald Trump and expressed liberal views

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has hired Anthony Scaramucci to be his new White House Communications Director, a move so divisive that Press Secretary Sean Spicer has resigned in protest, and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus is said to be on his way out as well. But the real controversy surrounding the hiring of Scaramucci may be his Twitter posts where he’s stood against Trump and expressed his own liberal views. In fact, he’s going back and deleting those tweets as we speak, but the internet is forever.

For instance, after Josh Billinson dug up an old tweet in which Anthony Scaramucci praised Mitt Romney for keeping his distance from Donald Trump during the election, (link), Scaramucci quickly deleted the tweet in question. Mashable has also uncovered an old tweet in which Scaramucci took a liberal gun-control stance by asserting that “We (the USA) has 5% of the world’s population but 50% of the world’s guns. Enough is enough. It is just common sense it apply more controls” (link). He then deleted that tweet as well.

BuzzFeed has also uncovered old Scaramucci tweets in which he’s sided with former Republican candidate Scott Walker against Donald Trump, while stating his own support for climate change reform and abortion rights (link). And then there’s the fact that in 2008, Scaramucci donated to the Presidential campaign of Barack Obama (link). We’re betting Trump doesn’t know about any of this.

In other words, Anthony Scaramucci is a social liberal with a history of showing more support for President Obama than for Donald Trump. In fact Scaramucci was decidedly anti-Trump during the 2016 Republican primary. Best anyone can tell, Trump only hired Scaramucci because he liked seeing him on Fox News. Just wait until Trump finds out that Scaramucci initially stood against Trump’s presidential campaign. And wait until Trump’s conservative base gets a load of Scaramucci’s liberal views on issues like abortion and gun control. The hiring of Scaramucci is a powder keg just waiting to go off.
