Author of Trump-Russia dossier gives up his sources to the FBI

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Over the past week much of the public’s focus has been on Donald Trump’s racism, the instability of his staff, and his lack of a plan for Afghanistan. But his Russia scandal has continued to loom large in the background, and now comes word of a major breakthrough. You know the infamous Trump-Russia dossier, the one that was penned by former MI6 agent Christopher Steele and included numerous allegations including the Pee Pee Tape? It’s now back in a big way.

Buried all the way in the fifteenth and final paragraph of an otherwise far less noteworthy new article from ABC News, you’ll find this huge piece of news: “According to people briefed on the developments, Steele has met with the FBI and provided agents with the names of his sources for the allegations in the dossier” (link). This means that the FBI, and by extension Special Counsel Robert Mueller, now have a solid path for tracking down all of the allegations made in the dossier, and proving the ones that are true.

The “Pee Pee Tape” has gotten the most public attention out of anything in the Trump-Russia dossier due to its pure salaciousness. But other portions of that dossier spelled out a clear cut and years-long pattern of collusion and blackmail on the part of Russia when it came to Donald Trump and his advisers. If those aspects of the dossier can be confirmed, it will prove that Trump and his campaign were in fact conspiring with an enemy government to rig the election in Trump’s favor.

And so even as House and Senate committees continue to try to get Trump-Russia dossier author Christopher Steele to testify in their hearings, that’s a mere a sideshow at this point. The real story is that Steele has already given the FBI what it needs to track down every assertion made in his dossier.
