Donald Trump silent as Anthony Scaramucci’s reign of terror targets Reince Priebus’ marriage

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. It wasn’t enough that Anthony Scaramucci was able to get White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus fired this week; now someone close to him is dishonestly targeting Priebus’ marriage. Scaramucci’s pal Arthur Schwartz – who was recently described as his “rep” – publicly accused Priebus of having a mistress before admitting he had made the entire thing up, in a sign of just how startlingly out of control the Scaramucci show has become.

Word surfaced in Page Six earlier this week that Anthony Scaramucci’s wife has just left him, which may help explain why his behavior is spiraling out of control by the day (link). In that Page Six article, Arthur Schwartz is quoted and listed as being Scaramucci’s “rep.” Today, Schwartz began aiming deranged threats at Priebus, as preserved by Salon in this image capture:

After controversy erupted, Schwartz deleted the above tweets and admitted that he had made the entire thing up: “I deleted my tweets re Reince & apologized to him. Pretty sure he’s not accepting my apology. Can’t blame him. I’m ashamed of what I said.” He later added: “Reince is a better man than me; he accepted my apology. I did something stupid and I’m embarrassed. Keep the hits coming – I deserve it.” Schwartz also updated his Twitter bio to read “Not Scaramucci’s Publicist” while asserting that Page Six misrepresented him by referring to him as Scaramucci’s “rep.” But the false accusation is already out there, and it points to just how little oversight Donald Trump seems to have over his own henchmen.

In the past week Anthony Scaramucci has asked the FBI to investigate Reince Priebus for an imaginary crime, accused Priebus of being a paranoid schizophrenic, made crude sexual remarks about Steve Bannon to a reporter, and gotten Priebus fired. And now that it turns out Scaramucci’s own marriage is crumbling, his pal just tried to destroy Priebus’ marriage. None of this would be relevant to politics, of course, if not for the fact that Scaramucci has become the primary adviser to Donald Trump, who occupies the office of President of the United States.
