Wow is this guy stupid
When it comes to politics, it’s tempting to label everyone on the other side an “idiot” and be done with it. Of course that’s not truly the case. Dick Cheney was objectively evil, but he was an intelligent guy, which was why he was so effective at achieving his evil. But when it comes to Donald Trump, I’m sorry, I just can’t get over how bleeping stupid he is.
Here’s what Trump tweeted after he stupidly tore up the Iran peace deal: “Iran’s Military Budget is up more than 40% since the Obama negotiated Nuclear Deal was reached…just another indicator that it was all a big lie. But not anymore!” Wait, what? I’m trying to figure out how to follow his logic here so I can dissect it, but there isn’t any logic here. What does the overall military budget have to do with the nuclear program budget? This is like saying… you know what, I’m not even going to try to think of an appropriately absurd analogy. We all know how stupid this is.
I’m not sure what’s more sad here, that Trump thinks this tweet is somehow a logical justification for his decision to rip up the Iran deal, or that he expects the public to buy it. What was he expecting Iran to do after dismantling its nuclear program? Get rid of its entire military too? Maybe Iran could just build a border wall instead. Wait, no, that would be a stupid idea.
Everyone is stupid when it comes to one topic or another. Stupid people can get by okay if they’re able to identify people who are smarter on that topic, and if they’re able to put those people to good use. But smart leaders all around the world, including some in his own party, tried to warn him that ripping up the Iran deal would back him into a corner – and he couldn’t listen, because he’s so stupid, he thinks he’s the only smart one.
