Donald Trump, in freefall, gives Reince Priebus deadline for fixing Donald Trump’s mess
The Donald Trump administration is in freefall in every sense of the word. Trump has surrounded himself with mostly amateurs, and his nonstop lies have burned off the credibility of the few people on his staff who weren’t already pariahs. His approval rating is lower than the number of people in his White House who are likely to end up in prison. And so now Trump is taking definitive action – by placing a ticking countdown timer on his favorite scapegoat.
Donald Trump has given White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus a deadline of just three weeks, until July 4th, according to Politico (link). What’s the deadline for? There’s no other way to put it: Priebus is now on the clock to fix Donald Trump’s mess. There has been nothing to suggest that Reince has any idea what he’s doing as Chief of Staff, but it’s not as if he ever had a chance. His boss is a mentally unstable traitor who now seems intent on spitefully going down in flames for his Russia scandal.
And yet somewhere in all of this, Reince Priebus now has just three weeks to fix everything that’s wrong with Donald Trump. Even more absurdly, if and when Priebus fails to pick the Titanic back up from the ocean floor, Trump supposedly plans to bring in Corey Lewandowski to fix it all. That’s the same Lewandowski whom Trump fired from his campaign for not being able to fix what was wrong with Trump.
Of course this isn’t the first time that Donald Trump has threatened to scapegoat Reince Priebus or bring back Lewandowski. Trump has proven he’s not a man of action, but rather a child of taunts. And now Trump is reduced to publicly pretending that he’s about to fire Priebus, in his weakest attempt yet at designating a scapegoat. If you’re a regular reader, feel free to support Palmer Report.
