Donald Trump’s latest deranged tweet might be his most offensive yet

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has posted things on Twitter that have been patently offensive, dishonest, inappropriate, disturbing, and outright maniacal – sometimes all in the same day. His tweets have consistently been a vast wasteland of everything that’s wrong with the internet and wrong with humanity. But on Tuesday night he posted a tweet so patently inappropriate and so callously inept, that it may have been his most offensive tweet yet.

On Tuesday a deadly mass shooting took place at a school in California. Trump has a long history of not bothering to respond to these things, showing a total lack of leadership. Instead he responded in a way that was far worse than if he’d kept his mouth shut. He tweeted “May God be with the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI and Law Enforcement has arrived.” The shooting in Sutherland Springs happened ten days ago. Trump not only tweeted about the wrong shooting, he did it in jarringly specific fashion by insisting that law enforcement had just shown up.

Here’s a screen capture of Donald Trump’s tweet in case he ends up deleting it:

Considering the number of handlers that surround the President of the United States, and the nearly limitless resources available to the person occupying the office, it’s almost impossible to imagine how this level of callous, careless, lazy incompetence can be coming from the so-called “President.” Although Donald Trump wasn’t trying to be offensive for once, this might end up going down as his most offensive tweet yet.
