Right now Hillary Clinton must be enjoying her popcorn as she watches this show. Donald Trump, increasingly desperate to get rid of his own Attorney General Jeff Sessions but lacking the guts to fire him, unloaded on Sessions today in a manner which was absurd and unintentionally humorous. In fact, Trump attacked Sessions over Hillary.

In the middle of a ‘doth protest too much’ rant about how innocent he is in the Russia scandal, Donald Trump turned his ire to just about everyone in a single tweet: “So why aren’t the Committees and investigators, and of course our beleaguered A.G., looking into Crooked Hillarys crimes & Russia relations?” (link). This tweet is demented on so many levels that it’s difficult to parse precisely what’s going on here, except that Trump is mad at Sessions and Congress and the Feds and everyone else for not bothering to look into Hillary’s unspecified imaginary crimes. And of course nevermind that the FBI already fully exonerated Hillary a year ago on everything to do with her emails.

But this is where we’re at now. Donald Trump is a man of inherent weakness who can’t bring himself to fire his own hand picked Attorney General, and is instead intent on publicly humiliating him on social media. As Palmer Report pointed out last night, Jeff Sessions isn’t going to resign any time soon, for two reasons (link). So instead we end up with this strikingly pathetic display of resentment from Trump. There’s one other key thing to note about this tweet.

Donald Trump couldn’t spell a word like “beleaguered” if you gave him ten tries. In fact, based on his lifelong limited vocabulary, he probably has no idea what that word means. So our guess is that this morning’s tweets were once again ghostwritten by Anthony Scaramucci. On Saturday we laid out why Trump’s recent tweets cannot be coming from him (link).
