Donald Trump is already dazed and confused without Steve Bannon

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This was supposed to be Donald Trump’s opportunity to prove us all wrong. Everyone from Saturday Night Live to Time Magazine has long portrayed Trump as having been little more than a puppet of evil mastermind Steve Bannon. Now that Trump has fired Bannon for being too much of a credit-grabber, one would expect Trump to make a concerted effort to demonstrate who he really is. Instead he’s merely shown us he’s dazed and confused.

Yesterday, when tens of thousands of Americans took to the streets to protest against Trump’s white supremacist supporters, he couldn’t seem to make up his mind what to do. First he tried condemning the protesters by making the unsubstantiated claim that the protesters were attacking the police. Then just an hour later he changed his mind and began heaping praise on the people who were protesting against him.

And so this is who Donald Trump is now without his favorite security blanket. Confused about how to handle something as simple as a tweet about a protest. Dazed into misspelling the word “heal” twice in the same tweet, only to delete it and replace it with a new tweet which also misspelled “heal” twice more, only to then delete it as well. And as of this morning, so lost that he didn’t bother to tweet anything at all.

Donald Trump is, as of now, a deer in the headlights. All of his once-favored White House advisers are either gone or distant. Even his daughter and son in law, once thought to be pulling the strings, now spend most of their time on vacation away from him. Trump is all alone, without anyone to tap for ideas or advice. He’s also without direction, without resolve, and without a clue. If you find Palmer Report valuable, make a donation.
