Donald Trump unwittingly tips off that he knows a major Trump-Russia bombshell is about to land

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s weekend was nothing short of berserk, even by his standards. He went so far off the Twitter deep end that at one point he was simultaneously feuding with a Senator from his own party and the father of a college basketball star. At the time it appeared Trump may have simply been unsupervised for the weekend and blowing off steam. However, today he took things a step further with a rare weekday Twitter meltdown, and in so doing, he unwittingly tipped off that a major Trump-Russia bombshell is about to land.

Trump woke up this morning and tweeted “Marshawn Lynch of the NFL’s Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down.” It’s far from the first time in which Trump has attacked a famous black athlete. But the timing is off here. It’s a weekday, Trump is at the White House, and his regular handlers are watching him. They let him post this for a good reason.

Trump has concluded that he suddenly and desperately needs a distraction. We’ve consistently seen that whenever he does this, It nearly always plays out the same. A major news outlet has called his White House for advance comment on a major Trump-Russia bombshell that it’s about to publish. Trump decides to start a particularly controversial high profile feud, usually with someone very popular (this time NFL star Marshawn Lynch), as a way of baiting the media and the public into giving less attention to the bombshell when it lands.

So what’s about to land? Donald Trump hasn’t given away specific hints as to its nature this time. But now we know it’s coming, and based on the rare Monday morning timing of his latest attempted distraction, it’s coming soon.
