Congressman Ted Lieu: the Donald Trump administration just “makes shit up”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Suffice it to say that United States Congressman Ted Lieu is not a fan of Donald Trump’s performance during his first few days in the White House. Thus far Lieu has accused Trump of having a “Fake Press Secretary” and created a web page to document every violation of the Constitution which Trump commits. There’s a sign on Lieu’s office door which declares it to be an “alternative facts free zone.” And then there’s his recent assertion that the Trump administration just “makes shit up.”

After Donald Trump’s Press Secretary Sean Spicer flat out lied about the inauguration crowd size from the White House briefing room, and then Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway tried to explain it away by asserting that Spicer’s lies were merely “alternative facts” instead of lies, Ted Lieu had enough. He tweeted the following joke: “Was charged $2.99 for coffee listed at $2.59. That’s why I have trust issues. Oh, and the fact that @seanspicer at #WhiteHouse makes shit up.”

His tweet received favorable responses from across the internet, including from Keith Olbermann. But after one Twitter user asked why a Congressman was using a curse word, Ted Lieu replied in a serious manner: “The use of #alternativefacts by @seanspicer & the #WhiteHouse is more profane than anything I can ever say. That is what I am highlighting.”
