Stormy Daniels’ attorney is running circles around Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

About a month ago, I first heard the name Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing Stephanie Clifford, aka Stormy Daniels, against Donald Trump and his longtime self-described thug lawyer Michael Cohen over a nondisclosure agreement. Avenatti claimed that the NDA was not valid because Cohen not only spoke out about it and revealed certain facts about the payment stated in that agreement, but also that it was not signed by Trump under his alter ego name as stated in the agreement, David Dennison. As this opened up a whole new can of worms for arguments and legalities to be battled out in the courts, it also may open up an opportunity for Special Counsel Mueller to investigate a possible illegal campaign donation into Trump’s 2016 run.

But I would like to focus on Avenatti. When I researched him I uncovered some interesting and impressive facts about him. Avenatti majored in political science and graduated from the reputable George Washington Law School, winning several top awards in the process. Avenatti’s early days as a lawyer found him working at O’Melveny & Myers with some accomplished lawyers like Daniel Petrocelli who successfully won a highly publicized civil case against O.J. Simpson, on behalf of the Ron Goldman family.

Avenatti went on over the years to successfully represent such top names like Christina Aguilera (with Petrocelli), Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Paris Hilton, to name a few. Avenatti has successfully won suits against some powerhouse organizations like Kimberly-Clark and Halyard Health, Service Corporation International, and the National Football League after deposing key witness Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys. Avenatti has won over a collective and staggering one billion dollars in lawsuits for his clients.

On top of fearing what crimes Mueller is uncovering by the day, Donald Trump now has another well schooled and astute, ethical lawyer to fear. Avenatti has had Trump’s entire diminishing team of lawyers in a frenzy since early March. Avenatti’s media assault has sent Michael Cohen into hiding, afraid to show his face. Avenatti and his client Stormy Daniels have Trump, Mr. Twitter, The Big Boaster, in a muted meltdown about the Daniels case. Hey Trump, welcome to the real deal, his name is Michael Avenatti. — Frank V. D’Ambra is the author of the books Annihilation and The Pledge
