The NATO leader shoved by Donald Trump had just taken a bold stand against Russia

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It was the shove seen round the world, and in particular across the North Atlantic. At a NATO summit today, Donald Trump shoved the Prime Minister of Montenegro off to the side during the midst of a photo op. Was Trump being immature? Egomaniacal? Was he bullying the new guy, with Montenegro being the newest NATO member? Or was Trump taking a calculated shot at the Prime Minister because he had just finished pissing off Vladimir Putin?

Shortly before the shove took place, ABC News ran a headline reading “Montenegro defies Russia to become NATO member” (link). This and similar headlines were what Donald Trump woke up to this morning. Vladimir Putin and Russia had spent more than a decade trying to lure Montenegro over to its side, only to instead lose Montenegro to NATO instead.

And so what did Trump do when he encountered Montenegro Prime Minister Milo Đukanović today? At a moment when Trump knew all the cameras were on him, he made a point of shoving the guy (link).

Was Donald Trump merely acting like a buffoon toward Đukanović because he is in fact a buffoon? Or was he making a point of lashing out at Đukanović in order to punish him for having chose the United States over Russia? After all, Trump had to have known Putin was sitting home and watching the footage.
