Donald Trump hits “rock bottom”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“He’s not going to attack children, is he? Yes he is.” George Carlin once spoke those words about himself in the third person during a stand up comedy routine, as he was launching into a series of sarcastic jokes. Those same words could apply to Donald Trump in an entirely different, much darker and scarier context with his plan to scrap DACA. Sure, Trump keeps proving he’s the most horrifying monster imaginable. But now he’s indeed attacking children.

Congressman Adam Schiff perhaps said it best: “For an Administration marked by indifference to plight of others, today POTUS hit rock bottom, ending protection for a bunch of kids.” Donald Trump has indeed hit rock bottom. He’ll continue to say and do horrible things, if only to try to spite decent Americans, as we force him out the door and into a cautionary tale. At this point it’s really all that’s left to be done. And yet today was simply the logical and inevitable conclusion to where he’s been heading all along.

Trump launched his campaign by falsely demonizing Mexican immigrants as being rapists and drug dealers. He escalated his campaign by falsely claiming Muslim refugees were secretly ISIS. There wasn’t a single day during his campaign in which he didn’t, loudly and vulgarly and proudly, say something racist. He didn’t even try to hide his status as the most horrifying piece of filth of his generation.

This was even as the gullible folks in the American political middle insisted that he would never actually carry out any of these things if he took office. Those were some of the same people who then demanded that “we give him a chance” to see if he might mellow out, even after he entered office and immediately began carrying out his unconstitutionally racist agenda. Now they’re shocked that he’s trying to destroy the lives of a bunch of innocent American kids. He’s not going to attack children, is he? Yes he is. Of course he is. He was always going to.
