Donald Trump either just had a psychotic break, or he’s tipped off the mother of all Trump-Russia bombshells

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Whenever a major news outlet is about to publish a huge bombshell about Donald Trump’s Russia scandal, it calls Trump’s White House for advance comment on the story. In turn, Trump tries to distract from the scandal by picking a fight or staging a meltdown on Twitter shortly before the article is published. Based on what we just saw from Trump this morning, it’s difficult to tell if he just tipped off the biggest Trump-Russia bombshell of all, or if he’s merely had some sort of psychotic break entirely.

In the span of an hour this morning, Donald Trump went on a Twitter rampage that was so over the top, it often read like something a Trump parody account would write. As part of his ongoing attacks on basketball father LaVar Ball, Trump began screaming things like “Ungrateful fool!” and “IT WAS ME. Too bad!” Then he attacked one of his own supporters for agreeing with him, before deleting it. Then he attacked Don King’s hair. Then he retweeted someone who had compared him to Charles Manson.

Normally, when Trump does this kind of thing, it’s because he wants that day’s headlines to be about how he went off the deep end again. That way, the real headlines about the Trump-Russia bombshell have to fight for the media’s and the public’s attention. For instance his attack on NFL star Marshawn Lynch on Monday was really just a (successful) attempt at distracting from the minor bombshell about his son Donald Trump Jr having met with a suspected Russian mobster during the election.

But this morning’s meltdown may be another story. If Donald Trump really was just trying to distract from an impending Trump-Russia story, then it must be the mother of all bombshells, considering how far he went in the name of trying to create a distraction. Or if this latest meltdown wasn’t strategic and intentional, it means Trump really did suffer some sort of psychotic break this morning.
