Sarah Huckabee Sanders is in need of psychiatric treatment
It was one of the most disturbing moments in the history of the United States presidency. Donald Trump verbally harassed CNN reporter Jim Acosta for daring to ask a question, and then one of Trump’s staffers tried to physically wrestle the microphone from Acosta’s hands. But then last night, Sarah Huckabee Sanders took the whole thing to a deranged and depraved new level.
Huckabee Sanders hopped on Twitter last night and falsely accused Jim Acosta of having physically assaulted the staffer, and then announced that Acosta’s press credentials were being revoked as a result. A short time later, Acosta posted video of the Secret Service confiscating his press pass. This was a stunning development, as millions of people had already seen the incident on television, and there was no question about who had assaulted whom.
Not surprisingly, Huckabee Sanders and the Trump White House immediately received broad pushback and condemnation for the move, including from several of CNN’s competitors. But that didn’t stop her from posting this followup tweet: “We stand by our decision to revoke this individual’s hard pass. We will not tolerate the inappropriate behavior clearly documented in this video.” She included the video, which clearly shows the staffer assaulting Acosta, and not the other way around.
Our question is how anyone can be this sick in the head. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is not some Trump-Russia conspirator who’s left with no choice but to resort to these antics in order to protect herself. She’s not someone who’s angling for a promotion, or anything like that. There’s no practical reason for her to go along with this atrocity. Instead she must be doing it simply because she’s that sick of an individual. She thinks this is normal, or she’s enjoying it. This incident suggests Huckabee Sanders is dangerously deranged, and in need of psychiatric treatment.
