Right now Donald Trump could benefit from a copy of the United States Constitution and a sedative. Trump announced last night that today would be a “National Day of Prayer” for those affected by Texas flooding, in a blatant violation of the constitutional separation of church and state, as he continues to pander to his conservative evangelical faux-Christian extremist base. But even he couldn’t abide by his supposed guidelines.

Last night North Korea tested what may have been a hydrogen bomb, in defiance of the empty threats that Donald Trump has continued to make toward North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Based on his initial reaction last night, Trump either didn’t hear about the news or didn’t know what to say about it, because he ended up tweeting the imaginary word “Hereos” instead – unwittingly evoking widespread jokes and derision. But by the morning, Trump had found his trigger finger.

This morning Trump interrupted his own self-hyped National Day of Prayer so he could begin tweeting garbage at Kim: “North Korea has conducted a major Nuclear Test. Their words and actions continue to be very hostile and dangerous to the United States. North Korea is a rogue nation which has become a great threat and embarrassment to China, which is trying to help but with little success. South Korea is finding, as I have told them, that their talk of appeasement with North Korea will not work, they only understand one thing!”

Remarkably, Donald Trump never did bother to specify what that “one thing” was, but we assume he thinks it involves angry tweets. It’s worth noting that while Kim Jong Un has always been deranged and unhinged, he’s sharply escalated his antics since Trump took office. Kim may be a wacko, but he knows weakness when he sees it.
