Donald Trump gives another middle finger to America

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump held a rally for a child molester last night, and yet today he managed to find an arguably even more offensive way to give America the middle finger. Trump, who has publicly defended white supremacists and has filled his White House with them, had the nerve to show up for the opening of a civil rights museum in Jackson, Mississippi today. Naturally, he found a way to make it as offensive as possible.

Trouble was brewing in advance when civil rights legend John Lewis announced that he would refuse to appear alongside Trump for the museum’s dedication. Trump’s White House then put out a statement suggesting that Lewis was disrespecting the memory of civil rights leaders by declining to attend. This meant Trump was literally accusing John Lewis of disrespecting John Lewis. It got worse from there.

Trump all but skipped the event himself, as he declined to attend the full dedication ceremony (presumably to avoid the protesters who turned out against him), and instead he only attended the smaller event which included his speech. Trump had the nerve to invoke the name of civil rights Medgar Evers during his speech. White supremacists like Trump shouldn’t be allowed to even so much as say the name “Medgar Evers” without a trap door immediately opening up underneath them. Oh and by the way, according to Trump’s own social media director, openly racist Trump adviser Stephen Miller traveled to the event along with him.

Donald Trump’s goal here, as always, is to create as much division and racial tension as possible. It fires up his racist base, and it forces real Americans to spend their time pushing back against his racism, leaving them less time to work on exposing his treasonous Russia scandal. Trump’s entire foray into politics has been one big middle finger to mainstream America, and today was no different.
