Donald Trump Jr goes on the attack, conveniently forgets about his own father’s sexual assaults
Each time Donald Trump Jr opens his mouth these days, he unwittingly finds a way to humiliate or incriminate himself. One might think he’d have the sense to shut up while he’s behind. Instead, Junior keeps trying to find ways to prove how clever he is. This time around he’s gone on the attack against a politician from a rival party, while conveniently forgetting that his own father Donald Trump is one of the most infamous serial sexual predators of his generation.
Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, a Democrat, resigned this week after facing a fifth claim of sexual abuse. This prompted Donald Trump Jr to conclude that he’d found an opening for attacking the Democratic Party. He tweeted “It took 5? Also: Ed Murray (D) fyi” (link). The trouble: Donald Trump was accused of sexual assault by more than a dozen women during the course of the 2016 campaign alone, and a video surfaced of Trump bragging in explicit terms about how he went about assaulting women.
Instead of merely calling attention to Murray’s shameful alleged behavior, Donald Trump Jr unwittingly called attention to the fact that his own father has had more accusers – and that he’s confessed to a history of such behavior. This comes after Junior tried to sound clever while rebutting the notion of opening Mar-a-Lago as a shelter, while unwittingly revealing that he had no idea why a shelter might be needed after a hurricane.
Meanwhile, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has now targeted six current and former senior Donald Trump advisers who helped him plot Donald Trump Jr’s dishonest and ill-fated initial public response to his secret Russia meeting. Junior screwed up so badly that this many people still couldn’t figure out how to get him off the hook – and yet his tweets reveal that he thinks he’s the clever one.
