Jared Kushner tries meeting with world leaders on Donald Trump’s behalf, blows it in comically bad fashion

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has only ever chosen people for jobs based on how loyal he thinks they are to him and how much they kiss up to him, and seemingly never based on their competence or appropriateness for the job. It’s why his White House is full of staffers who embarrass him on a daily basis by having no idea what they’re doing. And now Trump’s own son-in-law is finding new ways to embarrass him while on the job.

For reasons known only to the two of them, Jared Kushner decided he was going to try to single handedly negotiate peace in the Middle East, and Donald Trump decided it would be a good idea to let him. The result: calamity. Kushner met with the Palestinian leadership, and the “tense” meeting resulted in both sides being upset with each other (source). Kushner came off like he was a delegate of Israel, rather than the kind of neutral arbiter required for any such negotiations.

Yet Trump just keeps letting Kushner try his hand at things that he has no experience or qualifications for. Last week Kushner was seen giving a speech about how he was going to modernize the government, seemingly having no understanding of why certain kinds of sensitive data are stored on traditional kinds of media, rather than simply putting them in the cloud where any hacker can take a shot at breaking in.

And of course there’s the mess Jared Kushner made by secretly meeting with the Russian Ambassador and then the head of a Russian bank during the transition period, trying to set up a secret communications channel and allegedly Russian financing for his bankrupt Manhattan office building. That incident has Kushner being investigated by the Special Counsel. And yet Donald Trump seems content to allow his son-in-law to continue further wrecking his already failed presidency.
