With each passing day, Donald Trump’s White House inner circle continues to more closely resemble Game of Thrones. Trump’s son in law Jared Kushner has had an unprecedented level of influence over him, to the point that it’s consistently raised eyebrows since Trump announced that Kushner would be joining on his staff. And by all accounts, Kushner pushed Chris Christie out of the picture. But now Kushner is being edged out, and inside reports say he’s not taking it well.

The falling out centers around Donald Trump’s ill fated meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, which Jared Kushner had personally arranged. Anyone with political experience could have predicted that Peña Nieto might cancel at the last moment in a power move aimed at demonstrating that he wasn’t going to pay for Trump’s wall — and that’s precisely how it ultimately played out. The embarrassing fiasco left Trump ruefully tweeting that he didn’t want the meeting anyway, and according to Vanity Fair, Kushner ended up being “furious” at Trump over the matter. But it gets even worse for him.

That same profile goes on to say that Jared Kushner has turned pale and lost significant weight since he and Trump began working in the White House two weeks ago, suggesting that the stress of the job is literally killing him. What may be even worse is that someone else within Trump’s inner circle sought fit to leak all of these embarrassing details, presumably to humiliate Kushner and further weaken his already fading influence within the White House. And he’s not even the first member of Trump’s inner circle to be publicly sold out in such fashion this week.

Two days ago, someone within Trump’s inner circle leaked embarrassing details about how National Security Advisor Michael Flynn is making mistakes and irritating Trump and falling out of favor as well. The only one who seems to be gaining power is Steve Bannon, raising the question of whether he’s the one leaking all of these about his colleagues in order to weaken them. Trump’s White House really is Game of Thrones.
