Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump caught trying to obstruct justice in private email investigation

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Yesterday, when it was revealed that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner had actually been using multiple layers of connected private email accounts, and not merely one apiece, Palmer Report predicted that their email scandal was about to explode (link). This couldn’t have been mere carelessness, and was instead a sign they were trying to hide something. Sure enough, today they’ve been caught trying to obstruct Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into their private emails.

Immediately after it leaked out that Ivanka and Jared had been inappropriately using private email to conduct White House business, they tried to cover it up by moving their private email accounts to a Trump Organization email server, according to a new USA Today report (link). This was a clear and knowing attempt at throwing off Mueller’s investigation, and thus it meets the legal definition of obstruction of justice. This kind of bumbling villainy may have just made Mueller’s job much easier.

We still don’t know what Jared and Ivanka were trying to hide by each using multiple personal email accounts for their White House business, including one email address that they bizarrely shared with each other. But now it is clear that they’re hiding something in those emails, which points Mueller in the right direction. More importantly, it means Mueller can threaten them with obstruction charges in order to force them to cooperate going forward.

Keep in mind that the entire point of Robert Mueller’s investigation into the potentially criminal activities of ancillary figures like Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner is to back them into a corner. If they’re facing criminal charges themselves, they might still be unwilling to outright flip on Donald Trump and reveal his crimes. But the pressure may prompt them to give up pieces of evidence and tidbits of testimony, in an effort to avoid being charged – and it’s those tidbits that will ultimately allow Mueller to piece together rock solid proof that Trump is guilty of serious crimes himself.
