Donald Trump seems to signal that he thinks indictment is imminent
At first it seemed to be little more than an attempt by Donald Trump at firing up his own racist base so they’d go out and vote for his preferred candidate in the U.S. Senate special election in Alabama. But at this point it’s become something much, much more. Trump is now obsessed with picking fights with famous black athletes, including some that are far more popular than he is, in a dangerous game that signals he thinks he needs to create his biggest distraction of all time – and there can only be one reason for that.
Trump has now moved beyond cursing at NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who is seen as a controversial figure by some. He’s even moved beyond attacking widely beloved NBA star Steph Curry. Trump is now openly attacking the entire NFL, demanding that the public begin boycotting football games altogether. This has gone way too far, even by Trump’s bombastic standards, to be a mere attempt at getting a Senate candidate elected. It’s also gone too far to be viewed as Trump simply trying to create a distraction because he knows another piece of dirt about his Russia scandal is about to his the headlines. This has to be something far bigger.
At this point, what’s left? We all know that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has informed former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort that he’s going to be indicted for serious crimes if he doesn’t flip on Trump. Manafort has responded by pursuing yet another legally questionable overseas cash grab. If Manafort has told Trump that he plans to sit back and let himself get indicted, then Trump knows that Mueller will indeed break out that indictment.
Even when taking Donald Trump’s overwhelmingly chaotic nature into consideration, it’s often possible to parse his actions and figure out what’s driving them behind the scenes. His desperate desire to create a huge distraction on racial issues strongly suggests that he thinks indictment(s) are about to come down. Contribute to Palmer Report
