Donald Trump gives away that he knows yet another major Trump-Russia bombshell is about to land

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump, in his increasingly desperate desire to distract from what he knows is an imminent Trump-Russia bombshell story, bombastically overreacts and gives away that the bombshell in question is indeed about to land. This pattern plays out consistently enough each time that it’s become easily to identify whenever it happens – and it just happened yet again.

Remarkably, this latest bombshell is coming right on the heels of the last one. Trump spent Sunday morning tweeting and retweeting whatever random toxic garbage he could come up with, in an attempt at forcing the next day’s headlines to be at least partially about his antics. Palmer Report wrote on Sunday afternoon that Trump had just tipped off the imminent arrival of a major Trump-Russia bombshell (link). Sure enough, on Monday it was revealed that Paul Manafort was being wiretapped the entire time, and that Trump was likely caught on that wiretap. Now Trump is already signaling that he knows the next big story is about to land.

Trump went on a distinctive Twitter bender late on Tuesday night, first retweeting a garbage account that had said something nice about him, and then dishonestly attacking the Emmy Awards for its ratings. This is what he does when he knows a major bombshell is coming. He tends to have advance knowledge about these stories, because the news outlet in question will typically ask the White House to comment on the story just before it’s published. He then misbehaves on Twitter, hoping the media will give less headline space to the Russia bombshell in favor of reporting on his tweets. So what’s the bombshell this time?

Unlike some past instances, Donald Trump hasn’t given away anything specific about the imminent bombshell in his tweets. Based on what we’ve learned about Trump and Paul Manafort over the past two days, the next story is likely to follow in that vein. With the way these things tend to play out, it may be even bigger than the wiretap revelation. Contribute to Palmer Report
