Morning Joe Scarborough loses it, launches profane tirade about “Fake President” Donald Trump
Outside of the halls of Fox News, one might be hard pressed to find a media figure on television who has given more shelter to Donald Trump since taking office than MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough. But today, after Trump launched a demented Twitter attack on five major media outlets including his own, the republican former congressman snapped and went on a profane tirade declaring Trump to be a “Fake President” among other insults.
Trump, either because he’s trying to distract from his Russian treason scandal or because he’s simply losing his mind, tweeted the following tirade today: “The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!” But that sent Joe Scarborough into a tirade of his own in response, aimed directly at Trump.
Morning Joe launched a series of tweets in response to Trump: “Only a FAKE PRESIDENT would declare the First Amendment to be the enemy of the American people. It’s not even Saturday morning and someone is already losing his shit. Someone is cranky that Gallup has [his approval rating] at 38% and Pew has him at 39%. So now he’s resorting to FAKE TWEETS. SAD! This president attacks the judiciary’s legitimacy, the intel community, and calls press outlets critical to him “the enemy of the people.”
Scarborough then issued a call to action to those on his own end of the ideological spectrum: “Conservatives, feel free to speak up for the Constitution anytime the mood strikes. It is time.” It’s worth noting, however, that Morning Joe issued a blistering attack on Donald Trump during the election, but then proceeded to go back to kissing up to him after he entered the White House. Scarborough can’t be counted on. But it’s telling that even he’s throwing Trump under the bus this week, as rats like him look to bail on Trump’s sinking ship.
