Rep. Eric Swalwell points to just how damning the classified evidence is against Donald Trump and Russia

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. One day after conservative outlet Free Beacon quoted Senator Dianne Feinstein in misleadingly out of context fashion to make it sound like she was saying there’s no evidence the Donald Trump campaign colluded with Russia, some of her Democratic colleagues seem to be making a point of pushing back today. Eric Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee has pointed to just how damning that Trump-Russia evidence is.

Representative Swalwell appeared on CNN today with host Brianna Keilar, who asked him what he’s seen to make him believe that the Trump campaign actively colluded with Russia. Her question: “Do you believe that there’s fire here?” Eric Swalwell’s response: “Yes I do, and I have seen the evidence on the unclassified and classified side” (link). When pressed as to why he’s so certain, he added for emphasis: “It’s the evidence that I’ve reviewed on the classified side.” One thing in particular stands out about this.

Sure, it’s clear that Swalwell is trying to signal to the American public that the classified evidence in the Trump-Russia scandal is far more damning than anything that’s been publicly available to this point. But here’s the kicker: Swalwell is not the chair or ranking member of his committee. This means that there’s even more deeply classified evidence that’s only been shown to people like Adam Schiff.

And yet Swalwell is asserting that even the more limited amount of classified evidence he’s seen in the Trump-Russia scandal is damning enough to convince him there’s not just smoke but fire. In other words, pay attention to the upcoming House Intel Committee hearings. Help fund Palmer Report
