Donald Trump’s “bleeding badly from a facelift” tweet proves he’s trying to get himself ousted

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

There have been signs for some time now that Donald Trump may be, consciously or subconsciously, trying to get himself ousted from the presidency. He clearly doesn’t want the job. He’s told associates that he wants to resign but he’s afraid of how it would look. And so he’s taken various self defeating actions that have very much appeared to be instances of trying to prompt the rest of the government to remove him. But it was never a certainty that the erratic Trump was trying to get himself ousted on purpose – until this morning.

Trump’s early morning tweets are usually toxic garbage to begin with. But this morning he went to a new place that even he had to know was the equivalent of holding up a “fire me” sign. Trump tweeted “I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!” And there it is. It sounds like something Charles Manson might have written. So now comes the fallout.

This was a callback to Trump’s “bleeding from her wherever” remark early in the republican primary contest, which would have ended his candidacy if anyone had been taking his candidacy seriously at that point. But now the stakes are real. He just said this while holding the office of President of the United States. If any Republican Congressman has been looking for an excuse to turn against the increasingly toxically unpopular Trump, here it is. If Mike Pence and the cabinet have been looking for an excuse to invoke the 25th Amendment, this tweet is all the evidence they need. Trump is begging the Republicans to fire him so he can go back to his old life. If they don’t oblige, the public will fire them in the midterms.
