Donald Trump Jr.’s confession, Russian blackmail, and Donald Trump’s “collusion tape” denial
Over the past twenty-four hours, Donald Trump’s Russia collusion scandal has gone from surreal beyond belief to whatever comes after surreal beyond belief. Donald Trump Jr. now admits he met with the Kremlin during the election and had a conversation about dirt on Hillary Clinton. And it just occurred to me that I think I finally know for certain what Donald Trump Sr was referring to when he began denying the existence of collusion tapes two weeks ago.
Let’s start with what we know. The New York Times somehow reported that Donald Trump Jr had secretly met with a Kremlin attorney. Junior responded by immediately confessing to the meeting, while offering a flimsy excuse for it (link). Then the Times reported that the meeting had included a conversation about damaging information on Hillary Clinton. Junior then quickly confessed to that as well, though he claims that going into the meeting, he didn’t know that the dirt would be discussed (link). But the Times says it has confirmation from within the White House that Junior did know in advance that the meeting would be about the dirt.
So we know that someone in the White House, three unnamed senior advisers in fact, are trying to throw Junior under the bus to protect themselves now that the story has broken. But there’s no one on the White House senior staff with the motivation to have leaked this story to begin with; they’re just trying to limit the fallout. So where did the New York Times get the lead from to begin with? Think about how this meeting went down: the Kremlin lured Junior to the meeting by promising dirt on Hillary, which it then failed to deliver, because there wasn’t any. This was a setup by the Kremlin to get incriminating dirt on Junior, making him guilty of attempting to conspire to collude, or whatever the legal term for that would be. And considering the way the Kremlin operates, it probably taped the meeting.
That would explain why Junior has confessed immediately, albeit with a flimsy feign of naivety, each time another damning detail of the story has surfaced. Junior probably knows the Kremlin has a recording of the whole thing, so there’s no point in denying it. Who knows why the Kremlin would choose now to burn Junior like this. Perhaps Putin has decided that the next step in his attack on the United States is to cripple the Trump regime with an impeachment scandal, thus plunging the U.S. into even more chaos. But back to Donald Trump’s tweet on June 26th.
On that day Trump Senior came out of nowhere and began denying collusion – which the mainstream media wasn’t even thoroughly accusing him of at the time. But he also began denying the existence of tapes of said collusion (link), which the mainstream media wasn’t even whispering about at the time. It’s as if he got a heads up on that day that there were tapes and he needed to begin preemptively denying them. Perhaps the Kremlin informed Junior back then that it would be leaking the tapes if something, such as the lifting of sanctions, didn’t happen at the G20. And perhaps Junior told Senior to begin denying any collusion tapes. That’s the best I can come up with for now. But don’t worry, tomorrow this story will take another sharp turn. The ball is thoroughly rolling now. If you’re a regular reader, feel free to support Palmer Report
